Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten

Pre-Kindergarten

Legal School Early learning offers a Pre-Kindergarten program providing early intervention to young children in inclusive learning environments!

The program offers integrated, structured, individualized half-day classes for children aged 2 1/2 years (if student qualifies for Alberta Education's PUF funding) to 4 1/2 years. The emphasis is on learning through play in a language and literacy-rich environment. We have onsite speech and occupational therapists who work with the children as needed.

Achieving potential through active learning

Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools' Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K) program offers learning opportunities in all areas of development. Our programs are instructed by teachers, who assist children of all abilities to become confident learners.

Further learning supports may include:

  • Speech and Language Pathologists
  • Speech-Language Assistants
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Behaviour Consultants
  • Physiotherapists
  • Educational Assistants

Your child will gain skills through play, inquiry, creativity, problem-solving, and social interaction, as well as early literacy, language, and numeracy activities.

Kindergarten

Legal School offers half day Kindergarten Monday through Friday in the morning.

To attend kindergarten your child must be five years of age before January 1st of the school year currently enrolled.

The word 'Kindergarten' comes from a German word meaning "children's garden." Kindergarten is a place for your child to grow and learn. We provide a learning environment that focuses on play and inquiry to support your child's development as a confident learner going into grade 1. We work with our families to ensure this important first step toward a Catholic education will be a wonderful experience.

We want this important first step toward a Catholic education to be a memorable experience for both of you. Our students are actively involved in play based, experiential learning.
